About Us

As life-long travelers and curious epicureans, owners Kevin and Kyla are passionate about transforming their travel adventures and intercultural learning into globally inspired hospitality experiences. Kevin and Kyla met working at a pub in Victoria (he was the bartender, and she was a server) and moved to Japan shortly thereafter. After an inspirational two years of teaching English and travelling South East Asia moved to the Niagara region and have worked side by side for over 18 years running  The Smokin’ Buddha - a local favourite restaurant  in downtown Port Colborne that celebrates the joy of cultural learning through the world of food.

Our Neighborhood

In October 2018, Kevin and Kyla purchased the old Country Store Kettle and Grill buikding on Main Street of Port Colborne with the vision to transform it into a modern neighborhood food shop. Today,  Go Buddha Food Shop continues this location's tradition of offering culinary experiences to the South Coast Niagara community.

The Smokin’ Buddha

Our flagship property- the Smokin’ Buddha, a Niagara based food business has been inspiring global food journeys since 2005. The Smokin’ Buddha got its entrepreneurial start at the Port Colborne Farmers’ Markets offering curry kits out of a coleman cooler. Go Buddha Food Shop represents a return to our roots and the deli cooler!
